As wire fence is mainly destined to keep what's yours "inside" and to keep the rest "outside", it is obvious that a thicker wire and smaller meshes will be better to achieve the stated objective. When buying wire fence you should therefore pay attention to wire-thickness and the size of the meshes.
Often the difference in quality can simply be determined by weighing the products!
Furthermore protection against corrosion also plays an important part; the plastic-coated types have to have a galvanised wire core, which offers a double protection against corrosion;
all
products have this double protection element.For the galvanised products, it is important that the product is galvanised after weaving or welding, thus the galvanised layer is 10 times thicker compared to products made from normal galvanised wire ; all Giardino-products are galvanised after weaving or welding.
GARDEN FENCE, type GARDENPLAST
This popular type is brought on the market by different suppliers; unfortunately for this product the meshes become increasingly larger and the thickness of the wire becomes THINNER; a good control of the offered quality is thus certainly needed!
The
products "GARDENPLAST" and "GARDENPLAST STRONG" still comply with
the traditional demands and have meshes of 4"x 2" as well as a thick wire,
the STRONG-type even has three upper wires.
AVIARY NET
Once again we have chosen quality for our Giardino-products; thus the thinnest wire measures 0.8 mm at mesh 1/2", instead of 0.65 mm as from other manufacturers. The difference in strength is considerable as the difference in wire thickness amounts to approx 40%. This difference in wire thickness is also present in the plastic-coated types and varies from 1.1 mm and 0.9 mm. Consequently Giardino stands for products with a long life.
